Oparina Wines are sourced from the Brown family vineyards, situated in South Australia’s Padthaway Wine Region, 300km south of Adelaide.

The Padthaway Wine Region is gaining notoriety as an excellent producer of Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon wines, with its Mediterranean climate and soil similar to that of the Coonawarra region’s Terra Rossa.

Our vineyards at Padthaway consist of shallow soil over Limestone, and small yielding parcels consistently produce premium quality fruit featuring in some of Australia’s top shelf commercial wines. The shallow soils allow us to carefully manage and control water and nutrient supply to manipulate the best possible fruit production from top quality vines.

A hands-on approach to small parcel wine production by owner/wine maker Phil Brown, along with Sue Bell from Bellwether Wines, allows us to carefully monitor and create the optimum selection of wines from our premium grapes. Small batch fermentation, attention to detail and the use of premium oak allows the wine to be created and aged to produce the best possible flavours, which will continue to develop as the wines mature.
